Dang, y'all. It's 2015 already. I don't know about you, but I'm just now coming out of a holiday daze. It takes me a while to relax, and sometimes longer to un-relax again.
Fortunately, everyone at the 1/15 Homoground Open Mic was wide awake. This one featured the debut of two new groups: The Heinous Pitches (members of Common Woman Choir) & Delayed Gratification (Catherine Edgerton & Jess St Louis). Local faves Tennyson Welbourne, Kelly Howerton, Amy Glaser (aka Dr. Fruit) & P.M. Jones also performed.

At the end of last year, I had a pleasure of meeting Emmy Award-Winning television writer John Boni (Three's Company, et al). He gave me some great advice, all of which I furiously scribbled down in my little leather journal, in between sips of soup at Panera.
Dad wanted me to ask him about John Ritter, and as it turns out, Mr. Ritter was a fantastic softball player. Another point for the correlation between being funny and playing softball...
I also started collaborating with Will Jones (Nashville Songwriters Association) on some tunes. More on that to come.
Meanwhile, I've been working on my first comedy rap album. The rap tunes I've done have gotten such a good response from audiences and friends alike, that I figured what the hell--I'll make a whole album of them.
You can get a sneak peak at some of those tracks on my music page or at purdyholsom.bandcamp.com.
How were your holidays? Any interesting resolutions?
