I'll be honest, I've mostly been working my ass off at both day jobs this month, but I did have one spectacular thing happen: Lynn from Homoground brought me along to speak to Mendal Polish's Cinema class at Duke University. We got to show them a bunch of queer music videos, including Le Tigre, Ani, George Michael (the laughter at the end when "explore monogamy" popped on the screen. ermagerd), and local heroes Midtown Dickens. Dr. Polish even let me sneak in "Ladies Don't Crap" as a nod to subverting gender roles.
So what's even better than getting to show queer music videos to a class at Duke?
Answer: My mother seeing it on Facebook and thinking that Homoground's Lynn Casper was NPR's Lynn Rosetta Kasper.
